Instant Aquarium Substrate, has anyone tried it?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sounds good, a lot cheaper than the other sand I was looking at. Black should be a good color for showing the Electric Blue Acara colors.

I ended up using the Instant Aquarium after all. Got it on Amazon, 2 20 lbs of Tahitian Moon sand for 34.00 and free shipping. Surprisingly, my water the next morning had no ammonia, nitrites or nitrates. Still just keeping danios and cory's for a few weeks to be on the safe side. I really like the look of the sand.

nice. i was originally going to do my tank all black moon but decided to mix it and get more sand because of the deal i was getting as a rep. I havent had any issues cleaning it compared to gravel but i also keep a fully planted tank with a layer of leaf litter on top of most of the sand. post up some pics when you get your tank all setup! the moon sand is usually really good for showing off fish

I think the electric blue acaras should look good against it. I'm getting water tested again today, just to make sure everything is still ok. Lost a zebra, but might be because it was being picked on by the others. If one little zebra is all I lose, I can live with that.

Got it up and running, with zebra danios, cory cats, and a bristlenose pleco. My cat is fascinated by the corys, keeps trying to smack them. I am happy with the way the tank looks, and I really like the sand. Looks so much nicer than gravel and is staying very clean.
