some new pics of the insularium, with the clip-on light I got cheap from Ebay :)

Just need to start thinking of cycling the tank now, and thinking carefully about what to put in plant and stock wise :)

You really do have an eye for aqua-scaping another awesome design. You have given me inspiration, I might have to reinstate the 80ltr I just decommissioned.

Lol it's currently empty, my girlfriend hates it with a passion; so I've stashed it in my back room until such time that I feel brave enough to toy with it again lol!

I'd actually really love to do a bigger version, maybe something around 50 litres, that would let me do some shrimp and neon tetras in blackwater, with a large rooted piece of wood. It's all up in the air at the moment though :(

The difficulty with the small one I as working on, is the volume of water (10 litres), really hard to cycle it, and the open nature means that it's virtually impossible to heat effectively, with the wood impeding cleaning etc without disturbing the whole tank.

I think if I do restart it, it'll be a wabi kusa, and just shrimp at a push. Would love to do a Betta in it, good footprint, but I'd be scared of jumping, the cycling and heating element

Well that's depressing. :(
Why doesn't the gf like it? Condensation? Just the look of it? I can't understand why she wouldn't love it..
