Hey everyone, my question that I have about insulating is, once I have the basic frame work complete: can I just throw either the steyrofoam boarding down/ R13 insulation down (or what type do you suggest r19?) and then a pre liner like a carpet followed by the liner...
what are you guys doing for insulation?
Thanks in advance!
John

i actually work in insulation! last year my best friend roped me into building n indoor pond in his garage! we built a wooden frame and inside each panel of the frame we used 'celotex' cut to size. we used 150mm thickness as it get very cold in parts of the uk. i dont know what the weather is like where you live? 150mm was the thickest i could get hold of. the bottom was also insulated with celotex. i dont know what you call it in the U.S.? so i have provided a link to help explain what we used. i dont know what the prices are in over there. its not really expensive over here but because i work with it, we 'borrowed it long term lol'. we even built a lid for it so the whole pond was a contained unit. no heat loss through the top, as this is where you will lose most of your heat. his sump was also insulated this way. you may not need that thickness for your weather conditions, but the more the better in my experience.
hope it helps!

Unsure what the conversions are for US dollars on the celotex. You could find that material at roofing supply companies.

You could use that inside the frame under the liner. Inside the the framed openings, fiberglass bats will be just fine.

Is the frame going to be 2x6 or 2x4's?
