Bio-balls in aprox 18" x 10" x 96" or approx 75gals.K626;1755081; said:Looks good, but I'm not sure how much media (mech, bio, chem) you could fit in that space. Is that all bio media?
Yeah, I forgot to show detail of the floss/foam/foam pre-filter above the bio-balls...thanks for reminding me...frasertheking;1755093; said:seems liek a good idea but might be hard to set up the pump wit ha prefilter on top seems like a good idea .
Yeah thanks, but having the pump internal would be a major pain to clean...fishdance;1755097; said:Here is another version which is simpler and cheaper to make which also takes up less space with less chance of leakage. If you google for a side drop trickle filter you might be able to find working photos online.
You can keep the internal baffle if you want to keep the bottom uptake idea although the space between glass baffles gets dirty very fast IMO

Great idea!...one big cartridge. Floss/foam/foam/bio-balls.itsalmosteasy;1755672; said:I would also be nice to make some sort of holder for the bioballs that you could pull out to clean them periodically. I like the idea. And running the length of the tank would hold a lot of them!
