Interacting with your fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hand fed my dats, convict cichlids, ABK, barbs, african cichlids and some other stuff.

The ABK will swim up to my hand and rub against it sometimes when I do water changes.

aw great to hear u guys dont neglect ur fishies :) except for that poking lol

My Oscars and Murray Cod used to love being handled as soon as id place my hand in the tank they would come and rub on my hand the murray cod used to let my stroke its sides and just stay there in a trance

My loaches interact by nipping my hands as a sign of affection.:D Don't start with my gold sevs. They just bite as a way of affection and this one bite is not something I like very much. As for my snails, some of my Pomacea diffusa and then most P. canaliculata don't withdraw into their shells when I try to touch their heads.:D

My aro plays with me and swims around my arms when ever I clean my tank or re-arrange the driftwood. I poked my Fat S.Tiger when he bullied his tankmates and ate the three clown loach lol

:ROFL::ROFL: Dude you are awesome... you're one of the few people on MFK who call the tank "my tank" instead of "his tank" or "her tank" :banhim:

When I had german blue rams I swished the dominant one with my hand whenever he nipped the other's fins...

Hand fed my BGK before. Also my Chinese perch used to approach my hand (probably looking for food), and a few times I rubbed him with my finger. I had to stop though because he started to get aggressive and bite.

When I change water, my silver Aro likes to swim between my fingers and my thumb. It also likes to rub up against my arm and swim around it.

My Aro is strange...it's more calm during a water change than when the tank is left alone full with water... :screwy: If I were to try touching it for no reason, I would lose a finger or have it fly across the room onto the floor. On the positive side I don't have to worry about it jumping out during a water change, the only time that the lids are off, lol.

My wifes oscars are "trained" to tap the food container before they are fed. They are not keen on being touched (think it is a bad idea anyway). They will definately follow you around the room, well as much as they can anyway.

My rasboras are hand fed
