Interest in buying Missouri natives

Can you catch and breed several endemic local species for sale like the Noturus albater, Ozark madtom, or the Ozark bass (Ambloplites constellatus)? Last time I checked if you did you would be the only one out of all the online native fish dealers (zimmermans,Jonahs, sachs, btdarters) that i know of to carry these.

I've looked into the regulations and if I'm aquaculturing my own specimens I can sell the game fish species, like rock bass.

Ozark bass would be dependent on if I ever come across any. They're not around here and I don't know when I'll be around their location.
The shadow bass I will be spawning.

I've never found an ozark madtom, so again, that depends on whether I ever do.

For some of you that are interested any of the Lepomis species, I'm going to see what the farmers here are carrying, and I might be able to ship some out before I get my own colonies going. I doubt anyone has redspotteds, but some should have longears, and they might have some of the others.
I can also get some with my commercial fishing permit. I'm limited in my mesh size, so it would have to be medium sized - large stuff. Like sunfish, bullheads, and gars mainly. No bowfin, since I'm not doing a $500 per yr roefish license, unless a dealer has any for a decent price.

Ok, I understand they may be tough to come by; what kind of Longear do you have in the bootheel?

Longear are one of the easiest to come by. They're not much less common in most places than bluegill or green sunnies. They're one of the main fish I catch out fishing.
They're central longears, but they are better looking than longears in a lot of regions, IMO.

This is a video of the group I used to have. All males.

And a couple of pics:

The very very orange one, 2nd to last pic, is spawning color. The rest is regular color. They will be this colorful year round.

Very nice, Ill have to get with my landlord and see if he will allow a tank bigger than a 55g,...if he does Ill buy some.

I've got some big beautiful studfish. I caught them on little hooks. I still don't think I have any males though. As soon as I get some I can get a colony going. :D
They are very interesting fish, with big beautiful eyes. I'll get some video later.
In the same place we caught 4 juvie longears. As soon as I have both males and females and they're mature I'll get some spawning.

Also caught a 26" bowfin, pretty sure male. He's in my pond now. We're gonna clean the pond tomorrow and we'll get him out to get some pics.
Need a female and maybe eventually I can get some juvies out there. They wouldn't be cheap, but if enough people show interest, I'd be willing to get the $500 roefish license to sell them. :)
They'd probably be around $50 a piece, depending on interest from people and how many babies make it to a few inches or so.
This would be long term, so don't expect anything anytime soon.

From what I've seen (haven't made any calls, but looking through the dealer list) the farmers around here don't raise a big selection of sunfish. If anyone wants redears I can get those whenever though. The only other sunfish they had were greenies, bluegill, and greenxbluegill hybrids. And for catfish, just channels, blues, and black and brown bullheads.
There were some raising yellow perch too if anyone has interest in those.
Otherwise not much I think people would want, just run of the mill food and pondfish.

A few also listed paddlefish. I'm not sure if this is a year round or seasonal thing or the sizes, might just be mature specimens for roe, or they may be breeding them. If anyone has the ability to house these fish and is interested I can make a phone call, get info, and price them.
Keep in mind I don't like the idea of sending fish like this to questionable homes. You would need to list your housing plans and care plans for them. I can't be sure where they're going, but I can at least try.

its a good thing to get into mate, i breed and sell british natives, (northern pike, carp, perch,) good money in it aswell especially when large orders come in :)

Good to know :).

I don't expect to make much at first, at the least due to startup cost, but at least it's something I enjoy can help fund my hobby.

I'll also be selling live bait here locally, and aquarium supplies, possibly some oddball tropicals, but I need a location first for a storefront.
