Interested in salt water

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Fake coral may look good at first, but it gets algae on it after awhile and isn't to appealing. As for the CC, the reason I don't suggest it is because it doesn't have the buffering capacity like sand and will actually trap nitrates, and be a nitrate factory. It takes a lot of work to keep any kind of bed celan though. Sand looks better imo.

Thanks for your opinion, I will go that route.

Salt tanks are much harder to keep, just much more time consuming and meticulate. Salt tanks need daily tending to unless you spend enough money to have everything the first time around. All you really need on a daily basis is just to top off with fresh water and every few days you will want to check you parameters.

Thanks to everybody for the help. Upon your return, there will be an ice cream waiting.
