i would start out with 4 , they start to show signs of pairing up as small as 7-8" by 12" you should be certain which your pair is and then could move the other two fish out if wanted ( or if needed due to pairing aggresion) .
auranti would be a good choice , just provide lots of cover at the surface and they will be on show most of the time
