What are some cool things youve noticed that cichlids do?

My fish, for example, all eat from hand. I find this interesting because i can get fish to start taking food that im holding from just a few days after i get them, provided the other fish let them come out and try. My "TexX?" Hybrid is even better. He will jump nearly all the way out of the water to grap a shrimp from my fingers, and sometimes if i tease him he will headbutt the lid of the tank trying to get to my hands.

I know some people have dish that play with toys and stuff like that... Im interested in what your fish have learned or what youve taught them.

My fish have a bouncy ball they play with. He'll move it from one end to another. Also I had a Flowerhorn who would protect me when doing gravel cleanings from the other fish. I play with him and we got attached so now he protects me. He passed away and now I have rays so no more gravel cleanings.

My grow out fry tank will attack my fingers like piranhas no joke lol

Likewise Tyler my male jag has got brute strength I had to change the big pipes in my tank from clay ones to plastic as he pushes them around and gets them rolling once he's cleared the gravel from underneath them , I was scared the pipes would eventually smash the glass , he's also got a favourite pebble that he throws around that's gradually got smaller over the years so now he can pretty much fit it inside his mouth and launch it across the tank (I might have to get him a plastic ball soon lol )

Everything revolves around food for my pearsei. If i hold a can of food outside the tank he will relentlessly follow it back and forth and attack the glass. Allot of times i'll feed the bichirs after lights out, he'll follow them around and zero in on the food. If i want to feed them during the day i have to keep the pearsei away from the bichirs with a pvc pipe which he attacks

I used to feed him floating pellets and the bichirs would get sinking until he figured out that he can get more food by eating the sinking first then make his way to the floating that no one else would touch.

My GT went from hiding when I was in the room to takin food from my fingers in a matter of about two months. He begs for food any time I'm coming into the living room from the kitchen where his food is. he seems to have associated me coming from that direction with food. I have an acrylic tank that reflects a lot and he gill flares and bites at his reflection almost all day it's very entertaining.

My Red Devil is the queen of my grow-out tank, and everytime I feed, no matter how much, she chases every other fish off until she has had her fill. then once she is finished, the others are permitted to eat.....

.....like LIONS IN THE WILD. Damn psycho-fish. Can someone tell me again WHY exactly, I got another Red Devil when I had one just like this 5-6 years ago?
