Interesting cichlid habits?

my old midas would knock the tank lid open to get fed.......at any given time when I was in the room the lid to his tank would be popped open by him...I encouraged it by giving him food when he did it.,or you could say he trained me.lol.....it amazed me that this was almost like communication between us...."when I open the lid you put food in ok?"......

My Red Devil is the queen of my grow-out tank, and everytime I feed, no matter how much, she chases every other fish off until she has had her fill. then once she is finished, the others are permitted to eat.....


.....like LIONS IN THE WILD. Damn psycho-fish. Can someone tell me again WHY exactly, I got another Red Devil when I had one just like this 5-6 years ago?
Same reason I can't live without a jardini frank :)

I have a female sveni pike that waits for spawning pair's to lay eggs, then comes in and wipes them out.

Mentioned this in a post a couple yrs ago had a female kribensis that killed the male as soon as he fertilized the eggs. I still have most of her offspring they are just as aggressive maybe even more.
