Anyone ever try feeding their Loaches crickets? When a cricket drowns in a Lizard water dish, I usually give it to the Loaches. My Yoyos LOVE them, they go nuts for them, and they click very loudly. One of them grabs the dead cricket and smashes it against the gravel to break it apart. It's quite interesting to watch.

If anyone is looking for an interesting treat to vary your Loaches' diets, try crickets :) Preferably dead and waterlogged so they sink.

Guessing you mean when a cricket drowns, lol
I will have to try that sometime. I do have some weather and kuhli loaches and some very small clowns

They eat almost anything on the bottom haha

Ok so - now I am sitting here trying to figure out how to quickly and effectively drown a cricket...

^LOL. Try turning your filters off and just putting a live cricket on the surface. Without the filter movement, the kicking cricket should attract the Loaches. If not, try pushing the crickets down towards the bottom. You could also crush the cricket head with tweezers (bleh)

LOL mod edit please:ROFL:

Alright - it took approx. 45 minutes for all 5 crickets to drown in a bag of water (with occasional shaking of the bag). I finally got tired of waiting for them to waterlog and sink, so I just tossed them into the tank. --- it took approx. 2.4 seconds for my fish to find, rip apart and devour them. -- Awesome idea :) I think I will go buy more crickets :D
