I'd put a flat board on top of those two pieces of wood underneth the tank. Maybe add a sheet of foam...Then I think it'd work out.

Nice stumps, but stupid idea..I'd level a pair of 2x4's between the tank bottom and stump tops....Ah hum-bug, stick with the ghetto theory of cinder blocks and a plank...Just cover the front with shiny Aluminum foil, or a nice bed spread(lol)....
Looking at the pictures there seems to be a pretty substantial top between the stumps, it's black so it doesn't show and you cant tell what it is, but it could be 2" solid timber for all we know. That should support the tank well enough.
But living in an earthquake zone I'd like a bit wider base to the stand than those stumps

The black piece you see is actually the base of the tank I think. Personally, I dont even like the way it looks. I think it would be really nice if it was a single stump, but 2 looks odd to me. That said, the wood work is nice, and Im thinking of asking my woodworking cousin to make me something similar now.
