Most rainbows have the potential of being a bit nippy too. I don't think you will have much of a problem though. I love the roselines (I have five). What about congo tetras, or rosy ornate tetras? I kept both with Geo. Altifrons a couple years back and had not problems. I found my Geo. Red Head was far more damaging to the altifrons than any other inhabitant.

I don't even want to risk a possible fin nipper. I have lost some beautiful trailers on some of my Geos and it takes several months for them to grow back.

I do want some Congo Tetras. There was a vendor on another forum(H2O wolves. com) that was selling RED Congo Tetras!!! These guys were EXTREMELY RED, like the Millenium Rainbow fish. Of coarse he was sold out by the time I seen his thread and he has never had them instock since.:(

Where do your Roselines stay in your tank, top, middle, bottom?

I've been keeping Rainbowfish for about 1 1/2 years now and they are definetely not fin nippers. Only thing is the more you have, the less likely food will hit the bottom of the tank for Geo's. These guys are fast and greedy and will try to fit things in their mouths that really can't fit. Beautiful fish though. I found that they do better in smaller more congested tanks. I had them in 125 and they fought constantly.
I"m setting up 110 which is 72X18X20 I think. Was planning on trying Geo, Chocolate, Severum, T-Bar Cichlid, Fire Eel, and Large Tiger Barbs. The experience i have with tetras is that the more you have, the less nippy they are.
Also on a sidenote, I used to keep my Rainbows and Discus together. Moved them because Rainbows are nice enough to stand on thier own as a show tank. If Geos are your main display, be careful about mixing fish that might outshine them.

I agree, I kept schools of rainbows, 7 different types, and they all were nippers.
So if you want long trailers, I would not go with them.

roseline sharks are awesome if you can afford the $10++ a piece...
i kow this sounds out of sync with their geography, but what about wild green swordtails? got check out nutty's tanks... he has some swordtails that i think look really good with all his cichlids.

if you dont mind a predatory fish go with a hejuta pike they dont get that big and they arent aggresive as long as what u keep with them isnt small enough to fit in their mouth they just chill at the top. and maybe u could train them to eat bloodworms

Roseline sharks, bala sharks, rosy barbs, etc...

Thanks for the replies fellas!!!

I'm still undecided other than I really want something that is red or blue to match the redheads and altifrons. I would like a small to meduim sized schooling fish. AHHH, what to do, what to do.........

BTW, I finally got the tank filled, FX5 going, and AQUASCAPED!!!!!! complete with two minnows I caught locally, LOL. I've been taking pics so I will have a pic thread once the stocking is complete.
