give me your 2 cents, effective or not? i change 60 gallons out of my 125 using this method. i fill the bucket with tap then stop the tap flow, then add a cap of prime(50g) into the bucket then start up the tap flow slowly adding another cap of prime. View attachment 886486

I guess the idea is to treat the water before it ever gets added. Seems like it works but its too much work for me. i just add it all to my sump and pump it back into the tank with my return pump.

its not alotta work for me tho, ive done it about 9 times already i pretty much have it perfected i do it quick, my question is wud it be effective cuz i dont wanna mess up my fish by hittin them wit tap im kinda paranoid about tht lol

I am the same I just use 15l buckets premixed and to rough temp before I place in my 500l tank probably over cautious it takes a little longer but once you got a run going with 2 buckets it's not to bad. I do about 60-80 l every 3 days I just don't like adding anything to my tank directly.

Your going to hate when something goes wrong and you have water all over your floor. Just add to the tank and mix the prime with the incoming stream of water. Don't understand the paranoia of adding tapwater to the tank. Nobody else has issues with any way they treat water as long as it gets treated.

Seems like a huge waste of time and effort. I have never pre-mixed before adding to the tank. As others have said, pour it into the stream of water as it goes in. This has worked for me for many years.
