I am a bit of a newbie and was under the understanding that chlorine will wipe out beneficial bacteria and was told to neutralize it before adding to display or especially a sump? I have wasted a he'll of a lot of time if this is wrong lol

These are my favorite threads. Someone asks for an opinion, then refuses to accept informed opinions on the subject. Classic.

Tap water conditioners neutralize chlorine instantly. So if you add the conditioner to the tank first, any chlorine in the added water will be instantly neutralized.

OP- your question to us was whether or not it was effective or not. Most people answered no, when you can just put it directly into the tank. Then you basically said that you had your method perfected like you wwre doing something special. Why start a thread like this if you're going to insist on doing it your way, when it's not even efficient like you asked? I'm not trying to argue, I just don't understand why you would ask for our 2 cents and then throw it back at us.

I agree and disagree. He asked if his method is effective. I argue that it is effective, just a extra work that is not needed. If his water had unstable parameters out of the tap then I could see the benefit but that is not usually the case from what I have seen. It doesnt hurt anything to do it this way as long as he doesnt make a mess with a potential leak.

What a waste if a thread... Don't ask for opinions and when you don't get "wow your a genius!!!" get all upset cause people disagree with you. Can't stand these threads.

Nothing's wrong with what your doing, but many deem it to be unnecessary extra work for something so simple as a water change. I couldn't imagine doing this for all 800 gallons I'm running and changing weekly in my Fishroom.

the people who just take my method and basically say its stupid dont care just cuz they do it a much simpler way. they try to make me feel like im a moron instead of logicizing it like u did and actually thinking about it. negative ass people are quick to put me down

maybe thats true maybe its not, but i think post 21 is gonna generate a lot of problems for you
