Absolutly !!!!!!The problem is Us as Hobbiest Not willing to pay for someone to go out and specificly collect a species A perfect example is my breeding pair of Xingu I paid $250 dollers each for Boettners F1's I then took great care raising them For years now tried a many different ways to induce Breeding and countless hours not to mention tons of $$$$$ finally got them to breed very small batches maybe 50 to 75 and it is simply like pulling teeth to actually sell a couple ...So i am not going to even bother breeding these fine specimens any more ..People think they are common now because boettner sent a couple batches and i would bet my bottom doller there are less then a hundred even still alive !!!!!LOL the same people who seem to think they should be really cheap when they attempt to sell something that is not even in the same realm of quality think there junk is a gold brick but i should simply give my stuff away PHHHHHT!!!! that will be the day:ROFL:

What ...you don't like giving away gold bricks lol. I don't blame you one bit. You know it's only a matter of time when bass will dry up again like in the past then it will go back to the want.... Only a matter of time before history repeats itself.

Hulon has a very valid point i think, people scream out for the quality of rare species, but don't wait to pay that higher price.

Same thing with the ray market in the UK, you can post pictures of your rays and their pups and everyone is super excited and asking about availability but doesn't want to pay the price that reflects the work, time and money you've put in into gaining them.

Highly suggest you sell them as high quality feeders free of parasite. Cut your loses. Anything more than $25 is too much.

Your too much Ken!

The cichla market has crashed as far as making good money off fry. Sad for the breeder...but great for the hobbyist. We've also seen some interesting hybrids. Those able to keep bass in ponds have been allowed to go wild with endless possibilities. Look at some of the hybrids popping up in Asia. Spectacular...IMO.

I think there is still a demand for the uber rare. For me it would Rio negro Orinos. There is just something about those perfect circles.

Hugh you have some immaculate xingus. If your over the breeding part maybe it's time to introduce them to the big tank. They would look great in there.

Ps...one of those xingus from Boetner cost me $350 after shipping and all. And still one of my favorites.
