Intermedia, we'll see....

Wow 75%, thats fishy to begin with... best of luck but like i stated earlier they are almost positively not intermedia.

However this bring about a question.

Like stated above, (if imported from colombia and rio orinoco)the colombian supplier could supply temensis but not intermedia? Why is this? Is the intermedia cichla so rare in the orinoco that it can not be found even if payed for and in high demand? (<-- Which i think is very unlikely as once a large enough sum is presented they will go for them i am pretty sure) Is it not the season for them to be found? (more of a possible excuse but still unlikley) Or is the supplier even from Colombia or are they being imported from elsewhere i.e Asia, Europe,North america? (this is what i lean on due to import/export laws that are pretty firm in most S.A regions) I am not sure but i would like to know what do you think?

also why seichii why didn't you post this on his other account?

ive been asking the same question for the longest time now. with all these supposedly "wild caught" orinos, why dont we see intermedias? afterall, the come from the same bodies of water. and if you spend some time looking at south american fishing forums, youll see that guys catch intermedias as often as they do orinos. so why arent fisherman exporting these highly sought-after fish that?

why? because we're all being misled, that is why. ive said it before, i dont think all these cichla are truly wild caught. people are just being suckered by a marketing gimmick that is genius. call them "wild caught" and slap a premium on them. the bitter truth is, that wild caught or not makes no difference really. and besides, you cant tell if a fish is wild or not just by looking at it. so then what?

exactly.

thats what i think as well. In all honesty Wild Caught fish are really hard to come by thus the sensitivity when people say wild caught. You dont know what some marketers will do and the extremes they will go to tell sell their product. i am not saying everyone is like this but there are surly people like that.

I just double checked with the seller and he said yes 75% refund if they are not intermedia. :D

Seller has been good at refund my prepaid money and very fast on responding all questions I have.
I hope they are real and give him credit of bringing rare cichla to the hobby.

I think 75% is more than fair, especially since you are still getting some kind of peacock bass, but I will still hope for you guys that these are intermedias.

yeah 75% is a good deal, let's hope he honors it and doesnt back out if he has hundreds of requests for refunds if they turn out to be tems.

but if he was so sure they were intermedia why 75% why not full refund? as an importer he should have either been sure he knew what he was selling so he wouldnt face this or said there may be a risk of not intermedia so it does not mislead people.

I was just wondering, dont all baby(small, under 2 inches) cichla have solid bars?

yes and no. cichla like orinos have a horizontal stripe when theyre stressed, but most of time their 3 spots are clearly visible
