Intermedia

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not me man. I know that's a great price and you would be stupid to not jump on it if you have the funds and have been waiting for the fish. Again I had to take care of my car or else one would be in my tank already.

True, I guess I just have zero desire to own an intermedia. As far as looks go, they are below average to me. I could care less about the holy grail factor. I can go buy 10 of them, but why? To merely stroke myself?
If this is a fish you've been waiting on and truly desire, you'll pull the trigger.

The xingu cichla look far better in my opinion. The kelberi with it's various forms is still king of the species to me....even the much maligned and seemingly dime a dozen bahia that some people put down these days lol.

Say what u wan. It's obviously not a fish you like so why try and mAke others feel bad cause they may have not been able to get one?? Yes this a fish I have longed to get. Yes they are on the market right now. Do I want one yes I do.do I have funds currently no, so that's makes me looks I'm just talking right..... Well guess what this is the exact reason why I stopped posting on here for awhile. The little bs stuff people have to give each other. No one knows someone current situation. So to talk down on them is just plain wrong. This forum and may others across the inter have gone to ****.everyone is about picking on each other or talking smack. What happened to learning and sharing your personal experiences?? I'm not just some newb that doesn't know what the hell he is talking about either. And for the record if this is really a fish you can care less about then why even bother giving your input? If I get banned for this rant then so be it, I don't care anymore. I can clearly see why no OG fish keepers hardly comment on here anymore and it's very sad. That's where I learned what I know and have what I have today.

Also for the record I don't have a problem with you or ever did. I've actually asked you a few questions back in the day. I'm just tired of of the crap that's always given on these forums. Who cares if someone ask a question that might have already been discussed before, maybe they couldn't find it searching. Don't be a dick be polite and just answer the question or even better direct the person to the previous thread that has their answer.

No one is better then anyone in this world. Doesn't matter what you are worth or who you know. We are all human. If you do think you are better then someone else, then you are part of the problem in today's society.

I don't know why you took this to a personal level? I was making a generalization.
Have never had an issue with you and I still don't. This wasn't in any way a jab at you.
Half the people commenting on this thread really have no interest in this fish or they'd be sold out.
Different strokes for different folks as they say. Am I really not allowed to have an opinion?
Please prove me wrong and raise/produce an exceptional specimen.
I just have yet to see one, looking good as an adult. They're always washed out and thin. But hey that's just my opinion.
I don't see any banning/issues coming from your "rant". It's still civil at this point. I respect your opinion on the fish.
If you don't like xingus, azuls, or orino's, great! I would never have an issue with that? Don't know why you do.
As far as the other issue that you mentioned, we'll just keep that one under the rug. Nothing was wrong with questions. After they were answered is where issues arose.
Anyways, hopefully you can produce some nice interns eventually. Boettners are showing good potential. Hopefully they continue to improve with age like other cichla do. But like I said, any adults I've seen in the past were extremely bland.
I have a bowl waiting for ya if you ever make it this way.

I look at it like friends hanging out fishing or working on cars. There is constant banter and talking crap. The net has made people soft.

These intermedia look great from pics ive seen of those caught in the wild. I feel ya rjkz800, sometimes funds dont always align with desired imports. But thats life. And it seems like these bass will be around awhile with the recent cb sucess from guru Boetner.

But I agree with jacunuba and Krich. I like the xingu more. I would love to wc xingu imported again. True wc.

Sorry if i came off hard, but it seemed like you were directing it at me when you said what u said. U can say what u want it's a free world but don't get mad when someone like me says something. I may not like a certain fish but I don't go on thread and talk smack about it. I read the thread try to pick up some info I may have not known and leave it as it is. I love all Cichla. My favorite is Orinos, reason why I own 3 different variations. I would also love to own an wc xingu as well. And as far as all these intermedia you have seen being bland to you, could it be they might not really shine in captivity?? All the wild pics I've seen of them they are stunning. Who really knows since the last time these were here was years ago. Location as well is going to the play major factor of what they will look like. So maybe the ones that were first collected years ago weren't the really really nice wild ones you have seen in pics. It's hard to really say. All I know is I'm glad to see them back in the hobby once again. I hope they will stay around for a bit like xingus (which are actually kinda getting hard to come by again), azuls

People are interested in this fish but can't fork out the doughnuts for them. They are stunning IMO if you like Cichla in general as you can appreciate the various qualities each species has in terms of looks!
