internal filtration alone

Im sure it will. I do get some movement with the rocks, and the tank is bare bottom so I already see lava dust down, don't really care for that.
 
The dust should settle but if it doesn't try k1 out , mines bare bottom too hate it when I get tiny bits of sand /gravel out a my other tanks when moving fish in nets lol

I found some k1 for about £15 for 5 ltr on eBay, I was going to try micro but its almost double the price, am I'm not convinced I need it that much. Think I'll still put some ceramic media in a cage or too cause that should help balance the tank with a moving media filter

I've ran a few pumps or powerheads with sponges. This one is 185gph with an 8" coarse sponge prefilter for a pond pump. I picked up a bunch of them from the pond section at my local big box store at the end of the season. They come in super handy.

This isnt the only filtration on the tank though
