Has anybody ever done internal filtration on a stingray tank? Mostly wondering out of curiosity but at the same time I’m starting to like the idea of a massive 10x4 on the floor, do you think a 2’ section as a filter would be doable? The tank is going to house a pair of Hystrix and maybe some discus or silver dollars to start, I would like to get a decent breeding colony of Hystrix though so will be adding more as I find them probably topping out at 6 females and 2 males

Definitely doable.
One of the top breeders in the UK has internal filters and has been breeding rays for 30 years plus.
The below is a video from his instagram showing how they work.
He used to be active on here but not sure if he is anymore.
Extremely knowledgeable chap.

 
Altho if you’re going to be putting the tank on the floor, it may be easier, and leave you with more space for the fish, to just do an above tank sump/trickle tower
