Picked up an 4 sided internal overflow similar to those being sold on glass holes.
That being said can I use super glue gel to hold it in place on my acrylic tank ? then run a bead of silicone on the internal seam just for a water seal.

Heard that silicone is not a good adhesive for acrylic to acrylic bonding ?

No, it isn't. You will need to bond the acrylic to the bottom of the tank if you want to have a good seal. Silicone may work for a while, but there is no guarantee how long or how well.

Ah, OK, I went a different way with that one. I was thinking of something different. Super glue would hold it, but I'm not sure how long. The silicone should work as well as there is no real direct pressure on it, just providing a simple seal.

NP thanks!

mine are held in by the pressure of the bulk heads. you could silicone around the outside if if makes you feel better but i just didnt want to make mine permanent and they have held on for the past 3 years no leaking. silicone would be fine as it would peel off if you ever wanted to upgrade it and take it with you.

yea mine doesnt have a back side or top ..so there's nothing that the bulkhead can grab
