Internal parasites

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Your FH ailment is not uncommon in flowerhorns. CZ clear injected into him should work. It’s metronidazole and probably an antibiotic like tetracycline. This is a different treatment from dewormer
Thank you for the heads up unfortunately I don't think I can get my hands on that in time. Definitely going to get some to keep on stand by though if I can get him through this.

Is metronidazole and oxytetracline available separately in the UK? If so research how much is needed for your fishes weight. Use epsom salt solution as the water mix for it to be injected into your fish

I believe so although it is possible that the metronidazole is only usa import. How would I go about weighing him could I literally just lay him on a set of scales wrapped in a wet towel or something.

weigh yourself with everything like the wet towel on a digital scale then weigh him plus yourself or just the we towel without him first

Weighing a wet towel with any degree of accuracy...whether or not it contains a fish...is tricky. Water dribbling out or being squeezed out during handling can weigh more than the fish.

Weigh a small container full of tank water, then net the fish and add it to the container and weigh it again. Much easier to get an accurate weight this way.

That sounds like a much better way of doing it thank you for the heads up ?
