Internal Sickness Help

Hi guys and gals,

I have a P.bass that's about 8-10 inches big. Recently(2-3 days) i started noticing that he fans out the gills(the inner piece) alot. Just wondering if this could be a sign that something is wrong internally. I do weekly water change of 25-50 percents, he is still actively swimming around and eats like he normally does. Should i be concern that my p.bass is sick ?

Are there other Cichla in the tank with him? Sounds like he is flaring out and showing dominance/aggression

Sorry about that, forgot to mention that there is no tank mates. He's the only fish i have in the tank.

yeah hes trying to look tough to you he needs a buddy to hang out with

I want to get him a buddy but gotta start another grow out tank first. I started off with 5 at 2-3inches but due to live feeders they got sort of internal parasites and he was the only one that i was able to saved. Gonna get a couple more to grow out so he can have some friends lol. Thanks for easing my worries guys!!!
