Internet Browsing + Waterchange = Spilling Accident

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have done this a couple of times with a 5 gallon bucket in the kithen. Once when I was filling my 55 gallon I though i had placed the hose so when I turned the water on it would not shoot out of the tank, I guessed wrong and the water hose ran for a good minute before the started yelling about a lake in the kitchen!

 Omg I do it just about everytime. It was worse when I use to have the 100 gallon tub. Its one of those things someone should video tape. It never gets old. We all know better. Yet it still happens.

Yes Sir,

For me dont go rotate tires on your car while filling a 75... I would estimate 20 gallons on the floor...:wall: Just almost did it on my 240 the other day.

LMAO! Had it happened to me before when I changed water in my 75g tank while browsing forums. Spilled about 15 gallons water. Lucky the floor is concrete. I only remembered when I looked at my clock.

Damn you hard core multi tasker!:D I figure it was no harm being on the internet since the tank is only about 5 feet away. Boy I was so wrong about it. I lost track of what I was doing until I heard water swooshing out of the tank. Luckily this was only about 3 gallons or else I would be in so deep trouble. Now I always sit there and watch my tank while filling. I won't even dare to multi task or anything that would take my eyes away from the tank.

Had something similar happen when I had a salt water tank, I was making RO/DI water (and the filter is bloody slow, 100 gpd membrane) I usually put the container in the shower in case I forgot. I thought "no, I will be right here" So I put it right in the middle of the bathroom floor. About three hours later I go to use the batheroom and step into an inch or water. I successfully flooded three rooms with "hungry" water! Had to pull up carpet and dry everything out with fans!
