That is why my main focus now is obtaining broodstock and concentrating on breeding from here out. My days of importing and peddling small amounts of rare fish are officially OVER....thank goodness. I don't know why I didn't quit that stupid game a long time ago!!!

Many that are jumping in could probably be thinking it's an opportunity to raise it and then sell @ a higher price when it get's bigger. I believe them days are over.

I am training my son to drink rice water.. I figure I will raise $$$ faster this way by saving some milk :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
Hey Joey, I still can't believe your daughter and my son were born on the same date and year??? :naughty: I know what you did on valentine's day 2007.

I believe at the time you brought them in they were really considered wild. Meaning a team of fisherman will go out and collect what they can catch. But with the mass availability now a days they could be farmed. Meaning that yes they are wild, but in a controlled environment where they can easily net out the fry's when ready. You figure even the ones you brought over a few years back are all presumably close to the 18"-20" mark and if given the right conditions could be breeding stock. The internet is a great tool to scope out the market rate at the hobbyist level so exporters in SA I'm sure know what they fetch. If you were in the fish business I am sure you want to fetch what will be the biggest return. At this moment I believe it's PBASS. Just like as difficult it was to attain a Temensis or Orino in early 2000 circa, which is now a dime a dozen, so will the rest of the specie. Besides, it's not like they are rare in the wild, just rarely collected. You figure by now they have stock that's big enough to breed.

Also, this is not considering the dudes in ASIA? I'm sure they are on top of this as well and would not be surprsied if their ponds are filled w/Tampons...LOL

PEACOCKBASS..... gotta love it.

BTW - back in the day you only had a handful of people in the game who could bring stuff in, now you have a dime a dozen and the advancemnet of the internet hobbyists themselves can look to import.

The GAME has changed... Your still one of my true heroes in the Cichla game..

Between you & Seiichi truly sparked the PBASS craze..

PBASS is what's HOT..HOT..HOT at the moment. If your in it for the Business aspect of it you have to be first out the gate. No room for second or third =-(

If your a vendor you need to start working on the next big thing.....

Great times to be a PBASS fan. Who wouldn't these guys swimming in their tanks =-)

damm i love that 24k :D .... i agree but i got what i always dreamed off.. i could remember saying to myself so many years back....'those lucky pricks in germany and japan and s.a' ...' and i have trouble finding farmies'...
now many years later my wish list is fulfilled.. and i'm one of the happiest cichla owners out there.
