Intestines outside of fish Anal.

My oscar started showing signs of a small part of intestine coming out of his anal area. I thought it was just poop so i left it alone. Second week and it intestine is coming out more and more... Any idea what this is? Its not the swelling i keep reading up on. Im lost.

this will sometime happen after breeding or such. You can try Epsom salt solution 3 % with super clean water and it will sometimes retract.

I agree with the last post, also do not feed. Oscar go fine for 3 weeks with out eating. I would go a week. hopefully pull back up. what do you feed? how much? and how often?

Thanks i want to qt him but i only have a 30g around. Hes in a tank with one more oscar and a TSN 100g. I feed them once a day aboit ten pellets each. Ill stop the feeding for the oscars n try the salt trick....

Update

Well changing his diet and heavy wc didnt work. Now i put him in his own tank with epsom salt at 80f. Should i change 10g a week on his tank and add salt to his food n water changes? Thanks.

wish I had an answer for you but I do not, have you gone with out feeding for a week or 2? fish do fine with out feed for well up to 3 weeks.

Update.

I never was able to completely remove this problem. It did get really small after some time but once I gave him food on Sundays it came back out... I had to remove him back to his 100g tank for the holiday's. Im not sure what I should do next. Longer no feeding time and maybe soak his food in Epson salt?

Unfortunately sometimes there is nothing that you can do to improve this condition.
