Intex Easy Set Pool

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for the links, I really got some good ideas after seeing your setup!

TheFishGuy used one of those to hold his fish from the 800 during the renovation. I would feel better with the metal framed pools. They are also cheap (the 10'x30" model is $130) and they hold themselves up during water changes. My friend had one of the easy set pools and when you drain it (for waterchanges) it falls and collapses. I could imagine this would be painfully annoying during waterchanges.

The metal framed ones are the way to go, and are just as cheap.

I am looking into getting one of these for natives and such so I wanna see pictures of how yours comes out.

also, it would be easier to secure the cover that you are going to ultimately need.

I never even thought about the collapsing during a wc problem, thanks for the heads up! I think I am going to go and buy the 12x30 one if it will fit in my garage (havent measured yet), and if not the 10' one.

Will I need to place an extra pond liner inside or is that not neccesary with the metal pole version?

never was a problem I had a hose and valve attached to the side drain yeah the pool came down a little with water changes but it want that much I mean how often are you actually gonna do a 200 gallon water change???? not very often I just did like 75 gallons at a time and the level only dropped an inch or two.... but I will say that I did like the metal framed one better for size and that the walls are mostly vertical where on the inflatable ones they are angled in making it difficult to see all the fish....

Definitely agree with putting some insulation under it. As for collapsing during a water change, how often are you doing that big a change? I've lowered the water 4-5 inches without any problems.

I guess thats true, how often do you have to perform water changes on a pond? Is it a weekly thing like with my tanks?

Once again depends on stocking levels and feeding schedules.
