I was checking out ebay for a 1000gph pump and came across this http://cgi.ebay.com/Krystal-Clear-Model-12R-Filter-Pump-1000-gph-Intex-Pool_W0QQitemZ260391243376QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ca0870e70&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1205|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

If the link doesn't work...it's a intex filter pump for their above ground pools.
The price is only $45 shipped. This is quite a bit cheaper than any pond pumps I could find. Do you think this could work as a prefilter / pump?
I would be using this to run water to another filter that would also work as a waterfall. I wonder how many watts this uses?

Good price. I would be worried the pleated micron filter would clog very quickly in a pond. Not sure if that pump would have much head pressure either.

If the water it was pulling out of was only a foot deep, do you think it would do ok?
Also, do you think running the pump without the filter would work?

I went to home depot and bought a 20 dollar inline filter for a house. and a filter that allows the most blow through, cause some of then filter down to 1 micron and would clog in minutes. and I put a old use pump on it, I think it was a 1200gph pump that i got for like 40 and it worked out great
