Melissa (hurricane) came through the neighbourhood the other day... messy.
and so I find myself with a second-hand Intex (pool) sand filter with all of the backwash capacities & 1.5" threaded fittings that seem to mesh just-so with off-the-shelf PVC. I'm thinking this might be a nice "polisher" filter, so long as I can get the backwash line out the window. Thoughts?
I'm guessing the plumbing has the pump upstream of the filter (or backwash won't work) and I'll have to upgrade my usual little Jaebo to pressure through the sand if I want to keep the flow.
...or just run two parallel systems: one big living charcoal (current) and one on the sand polisher. The loaches want more flow anyways
