Introducing another O to a 10 inch single

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just did the exact same thing with my 14 inch Oscar. I added a 4 inch and it was fine. What you need to do is take the 10 inch Oscar out, do a wc, move around the decor, put the new oscar in first, then add the 10 incher. No guarantees, but that will increase your chances. BTW, 90 gallons is fine for two oscars.

This is about the only method I would use in your situation. As much as anyone says here, though, there really are no guarantees. However you decide to do it, make sure you have a backup plan.

Yep

Yes, I'd have to have a guarantee that the LFS would take the new o back. I was thinking if they had a couple around the right size I could try one. Then if that didn't work I would try the other.

I'm moving to another apartment soon so it may be a good opportunity to give this a try. I'd upgrade to the 48 inch 110 gallon tank while I was at it but I doubt that would do anything as far as territory was concerned.
