introducing back pups

how long do i have to wait before i can put the pups back with parents in main aquarium... or

can i leave them in a protected enclosure (laundry basket) in main tank to grow for a few weeks

i dont see a problem with putting them in the enclosure in the main tank, as long as the laundry basket never had any laundry detergent in it

How old/big are the pups?
in my opinion
it would be better to grow out the pups until they eat aggressively enough to be able to get food in the main tank. So i would go with your option 2. there's a few DIY growout tank' ideas going around. maybe its worth while giving them ago.
