My wild male from rapps went from the size of yours to a little over 5 inches in 4 and a half months. Mine has never eaten pellets though.
After a week the biggest fry is now over an inch long.. Noticed there was a Green terror fry in amongst the Dovii from the breeder... it didn't last long and ended up being eaten.
When I was growing out a group of 6 jags, I just threw a mixture of all the Hikari pellets I had into a cup and crushed the lot together (cichlid gold, massivore, algae wafers, food sticks, carnivore pellets) and it seemed to work well. I grew out the 6 in a 90g and still lost 3 due to the pecking order establishment, so I would expect to lose a few in that 30g. All turned out well though, I ended up with a male and 2 females. The male is now 7" and has the 90g to himself, he'll have a 180g early next year.
they love white worms at this stage and grow very very fast ! They also like cichlid gold crushed up.
Some updates... showing the largest that may be a female (2inches) and the second largest that may be male (1.8inches).
