Heres a little video clip of the male palling up with my huge Synspilum... The video makes it look a bit bright.

beautyfull!

So do you guys think that a larva rock substrate is a good idea to further fatten up the lips?

I don't think it will the lips are used for sucking prey out from in between rocks and I don't think substrate has anything to do with it also it has never been duplicated in captivity so chances anything will happen is very low

I don't know where the people who told me this got the idea from but I bought some Larva rock and gravel so I might put it to the test on my Devils.

Heres the male posing next to a old piece of larva rock I've had in the tank for a while... hopefully (if nothing else) it'll look effective.

I'm not sure if you use laba rock in the past but you might want to power wash to get all the loose stuff off.

I'm also not sure if a whole load of lava rock would change your water color.

What about lace rock for a similar look?

The stuff I'd be using is for decode in Aquaria and filter medium.

You may want to use ormal smooth rocks because if e gets chasing her a lot during spawning she could get cut up. This is a problem with Fronts but I would think it could happen to any fish.
I wish more people would get these wc devils and midas and weed out the midevils out of the industry. We have a pair of midas we have spawned in order yo try and get ore pure midas out there.

I agree whole-heartedly.... Its just a shame cross breeding in our hobby has now led this confusion.
