Introducing small cichlids with big cichlids, CAN IT BE DONE?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Whoa, I got home a while ago and theres lots of input here! I am going to continue to grow them in the 10 gal and rearrange the tank when I add them. I also might try that breeders net, I'm not sure. When I added these convicts they were about 1 and a half inches and they got along great, but convicts are tough like that.

rydnhard650, This is the male I wanted to get the female for and I did end up getting her. The guy I got her from gave me 6 grammodes and 6 red tiger motas fry for free. Hes the guy who told me about introducing cichlids in a sump for a few weeks before adding them to the tank, but he told me he does this with bigger cichlids.

As for eggcrate, I'm guessing I would have to double it up or maybe even triple it up since their so small. For this reason, I think I'll just wait until they get bigger.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

depends on the fish i suppose but its never really worked for me small fish are either seen as intruders or food.

I added a small keyhole about half of my thumb with 6" Geophagus and he's still alive and well, but Geo's arent that agressive.
