Introducing Snakey & Sucky :)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats my six and & half year old son. thats the biggest width tank i can fit thro the arches to get into the house. this tank took about 3 months to get made & delivered. Snakey has trouble turning in his curent home i had to act quick. take stress off him.Origanaly i was going to get it built into the wall (much larger) but due to certain reasons looks like i may be moveing. This will give me some time up my sleeve without Snakey being stressed. Sometimes i wish i was a fish LOL.

It's great that you are upgrading. And snakeheads can take a lot of what we throw at them. But to give him room enough to pace, lurk and chase, wouldn't we be looking more at the 600 gallon and up range? It also must be a pain keeping the nitrAtes low. Best of luck with moving, upgrades, and keeping that awesome beast fed! :D

i really do commend you for wanting to take care of the fish the best you can but that tank is really small for him imo =/ gorgeous tank non the less

thank eveyone for their input & comments. regular water changes keeps the cycle balanced & nitrate levels at low level. larger tank later is on the plans when needed.

I wanted to know if it is ok to put water conditioner into the tank then put tap water in or will i hurt snakey & sucky. Because the new tank is fairley big its hard to carry buckets of water over the top. I was considering getting my plumber to T off pipes from the other side of the wall from the bathroom to the tank. any suggestions thanks.

Just run a hose from tap/s to tank. Add the conditioner in to the tank water gradually as it fills up.

Great fish, I love mine. Great tank too, but you're really going to need to upgrade size within months IMO.
