Hello all hopefully its ok to introduce myself here as I will spend most of my time in the Arowana forums. My fascination with fishkeeping started in 1993. I used to own several different types of cichlids as well as various species of piranhas. I did own 1 silver arowana when I was younger however he decided to get curious and jumped right of of the tank. Unfortunately I found him on the ground and it was too late. I only owned it for about 2 weeks so I never really got a chance to see it grow.

I've always been intrigued by arowanas and I am looking to get back into the hobby. I am so glad I found this forum yesterday. I've been doing tons of reading and I know for sure when I get back into the hooby I will be setting up an Aro tank.

I just wanted to say hello to everyone and hopefully someday I can contribute to the community as well. I will keep everyone updated as I move forward. Thanks all. :)

Welcome and hope to see your monster soon.

Welcome and don't forget a sturdy aquarium cover this time round ^^

:welcome:to MFK. When i was in high school, my first aro was a jardini. i had him for 1 year, then one day he wanted to check out the carpet.:(. lesson learned. welcome again.

welcome to mfk.... pleased to meet you... you will be really surprised at all the info and numerous pictures we have on mfk of all types of arowanas.... our own monster fish "Arowana forum" is totally dedicated to them....Arowanas are jumpers, and need a heavy weight on top of their tank..just incase they get the notion... and they all seem to get it ..probably due because in the wild they actually jump out of the water for bugs and other pray... sorry you lost yours.. but your in the right place to learn preventatives for your next big guy.....

whats up everyone.. just joined this sick forum site for fish hobbiest... i have just started an arowana tank in hawaii (75 galons) and loving it.. i have a 12 inch australian pearl jardini (saratoga jardini) and hes a beauty. if anyone can give me some pointers on having a long lasting beautiful fish i would be more than happy to learn as much as i can... thanks a lot
