Invert diseases

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
salt, i just had a cray fish with some crazy worms alllllll over him, gave him a very heavy salt bath for like 5 min, when i say heavy i mean it. he was knee deep in visible salt and the water only covered him, swirld it around for a bit, he rolled over like he was dead, and i went to pick him up and he pinched the fire out of me, so i put him in some fresh water and like new, no parasites

Noted, thanks. It makes sense, salt baths are great for fresh water fish diseases.

Not sure how long they live my oldest is just over 4" and maybe 6 months. Have a pic of the crayfish? That said I have other crayfish that are just over 2-1/2" and the same age but since they berried up they got a bit behind on growth (the big one has not berried up yet).

Using fry for food? heh... I had some baby neons in a tank *full* of marbled crayfish and they did ok (maybe 39 gallons and 100+ pairs of little claws 8 of which are adult size). In my tank tho I let food hang around so there is always something for them to eat and as a consequence my tanks get dirty fast because uneaten food falls in the gravel and turns into muck *but* I've had good success with the crays. There is also a bunch of algae I let grow on everything except the front pane of glass.

Put in a small piece of cucumber just make sure it sinks thats what I was feeding my crayfish at first and they like it alot. I've now switched to using purina sinking catfish food it works great but like I said I end up cleaning the gravel quite a bit because of it =>

Only asking to see the cray because I'm hoping it will reveal something.
