Invisible Peacock eel

Just an idea....I always turn off the filter before feedings. My tt eel and clown knife have learned that when everything stops moving the food will be coming shortly. So after a few seconds they are out and expecting to eat....whether the light is on or not. (obviously I don't have a problem finding the ck but he tries to stay out of sight from the other fish and the light)

a peacock eel is very sneaky even though when your shifting your finger in the gravel or sand wat you need to do is take a net and go through the substrate then youll find him trust me

there sometimes annoying and die because they dont get fed.

Mine is the same way. Most of the time though I can see its nose sticking up though. Sometimes it will be days before I can spot it though. When I first got it, I was convinced it had gotten out somehow & was gone for good. A couple of weeks later it was chillin' in the cave.
