IPAD HELP

recently my brother passed away..long story short he took alot of pictures with my kids on his ipad..he has a passcode on it that i cant figure out..is there away around it without losing any data on the ipad? i mainly just want the pictures..any help would b awesome..thank you..
 
if you plug it into a computer? doesn't it automatically ask you if you want to transfer the data onto the computer? that might by pass the passcode to get what you need. doesn't help you unlock the actual unit though

ps, Sorry for your loss.

edit: guess that won't work as you dont' have his itune password either. it'd only work from his computer
 
not sure, maybe you can bring it to one of those places that can unlock it like how they unlock an Iphone? I'm not sure if the data will get erased tho.
 
You can do a master reset which will delete data unfortunately, are any of the pictures on social media or saved on camera or CPU? I've lost 2 close family members this year and its been rough...to say the least.... But the memories live on and that person becomes part of us and eventually everyone reunites. Again my deepest sympathy!

If he didn't set the IPAD to erase everything after to so many tries, maybe just do all the possible combos, since there is only 9999 possible combos. Shouldn't take you more than 1 day to enter all of them.
 
^ I'm pretty sure there is a lot more than 9999 combos...

Worst case scenario, you can try calling apple care and see if they have any way to help?
