IPOD Help Please?

I have a new laptop, the old one DIED BAD. How do I get all of the music from my iPod to my new PC? I have downloaded like 5 programs and all only move 10 songs then require payment. How do I do this free? Links, advice?

(coming here since I trust MFK members over idoits on the net) gettting really frustrated :irked::irked::irked: Apple is stupid..

EDIT its a 30GB (per the back)
 
From my understanding you have to download an outside program that converts or stores them separate of itunes so that you can put it back into itunes as otherwise it just wants to sync to your new one and overwrite your songs.

Either way I am responding so I can find out too. Have the same problem

Working on it will let you know. Hopefully what I downloaded there works. It's creating a backup right now. I have lots of songs through so it make take a few.


EDIT: it moved 95 songs and now wants money.. I am going to just have to buy a program aren't i? Apple pisses me off. They should provide something to transfer songs or not allow you to add songs to an iPod you didn't buy from iTunes. Total crap if you ask me..
