they got fish in iraq?!?!

thought it was all sand , camels and some dwellings here and there with zillions of cablewires interconnecting each other...

how ignorant of me

The valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, the birthplace of human civilization, are in Iraq.

There is some great fishing in Iraq...

Baghdad Anglers Club

Looks like a mastacembelid eel to me.

dude i just checked out your link, iraq is off the hook! anyone here keeping mangers in thier tanks?!!!!1

lol Awesome. Tire Track sounds right. i didn't know they swam out in the open that readily. You should try to catch it, looks like it might be fun on hook and line.
Good luck and stay safe.

PS, I read that link. That's awesome! FYI, Stinging Catfish are extremely dangerous, so...yeah.
And are those Tinfoil Barbs?

Wow, I love the pattern on those eels. Ship some over. I have a TTE and I've never seen one with such light coloration.

Catch one! It looks like it will probably bite a hook. They caudal fin definitely resembles a spiny eel, but the head looks like a spiny eel or a wolf eel. If it's freshwater I vote Mastacembelus mastacembelus. If it's salt, I dunno.

Looking back at these pictures, I know it's NOT a Tire Track Eel. The back tail fin isn't connected to it's body, which a tire track eel's is.
