i bought a 14" iridecent shark on thursday ($10) very healthy looking, the lady said he was eating flakes and pellets. i havent see him eat anything yet scinse thursday, im getting a little worried that he will die.
what should i do?

Get algae sinking pellets .. they are crazy about them .. they can smell them from way away ,and they can come addicted to them very quick .. mine just won't eat anything but those.. by the way these cats are scavengers ,when you put out the lights it's bound to look for food between the substrate .. ;) gd luck

Sometimes when you move fish... ie from the fish store to your house, the initial stress of the move and the new environment; they wont eat for a while. It could be a week before they start eating. YOu can try blood worms (fish crack) at first because they are irresistable to almost any fish. I know bloodworms are not really substancial for a 14in. fish but it might get him started eating.

he wont eat during the day cus the other fish are eating machines and dont give him a chance
but i will defntly add a few more choices for when i turn the lights off

That should help. He'll be a contender in no time.
