Hello I have a Senegal Bichir about 5 inches long in a 55g and I want to put a iridescent shark (hammerhead) I had my research and they almost have the same pH level and temperature can I keep them both together? I still have a baby bichir willing to upgrade a bigger tank soon ? thankyou

My main concern is that iridescent sharks need 300 gallon minimum. As long as one isn’t big enough to eat the other while they are together I would think they’d be fine though.

I would leave the Senegal in the 55 though, full grown shark could probably make a meal out of a bichir as small as a sen, ornate would likely be better if you keep them together.

Welcome to MFK!
I would skip the ID shark, rather get some deep-bodied tetras (like congo tetras) to fill the upper water levels :D

Will my bichir eat them
I wouldnt get an iridescent shark unless you have a 2000G tank ready. Theyre simply too massive
I will upgrade my tank soon about 500g but I think I changed my mind about sharks ?

Bichir will try, but Senegals are small and Congos are large and fast. Still a possibility but it has a good chance of working.
