Would it be a bad idea if I was to put my 8'' iridescent shark in my mom's 3/4 acre pond? My mom lives in north Mississippi.
pond:
channel cats
crappie
bream
2 large grass carp
turtles
few snakes
ducks

Bad idea as Oddball said. These are tropical and your pond may go down to the fourties. They would likely eat every thing in the pond. I just donated mine to the pet shop.

i was just wondering I dident go out and buy the fish my girl friends mother gave it to her
because she is moving frob memphis to boston I dont think she knew the fish is going to get so big I am open to sugestons of what i should do .
as for my first question being illegal my fish and my pond i can stock what ever i want.:headbang2

he's ok for now but I know he will get too big for me to house and properly care for
any one with propre houseing that is ethir close to me or willing to pay for shiping can have him he's quite the charater very active and larger than any of them I've seen in pet stors going fro 25$-30$ dollars

I will add a pic after 10:00 pm tonight, or check him out in a past trend titeled:

You can stock "whatever you want" into an artificial and isolated pond. Any pond connected to a natural water source (creek, spillgate, river/lake runoff) has to follow the state's DNR requirements for stocking. In MS, the only non-native fish allowed in connected waterways are triploid carp since they're sterile and can't reproduce. You can't arbitrarily dump your tank grow-outs into these types of ponds.

I know i was its an iceolated pond i was just being rude to the person who could only replie
illegal!!!!!!!!! thta was rude and not useful info at all like you replie.
i'm sorey to afend you:)
