At a public aquarium near me they have an amazon display that holds thousands upon thousands of gallons and it houses some 12+ 3-4 ft common Iridescent sharks.

I have three little ID sharks...We are making plans for expansion. My wife has a huge heart for anything living...I told her either I can let them go in the pond where they won't make it...or we can expand the fish room. She has agreed to the expansion.

I have 3 1 that is 6" and two that are about 2" the problem with keeping these guys are 1 they get quite large and 2 they are school fish so they like to be kept together. Going to be building an indoor pond (1100+ gallons) for my 3.

Dont study those type of fish so nebee question on these. What is the different between a paroon shark catfish and an irridenscent shark?, are they almost the same then? What is the top size for both?

paroon grows up to 8 feet in the wild but the irridenscent to about 3-4 feet.
I have never seen a full 3-4 feet ID shark myself though. The biggest i have seen with my own eyes is 12", but ive seen pictures of bigger.

They are from the same family and at first might look similar but if you take a good look you will start to know the difference.

here's an adult. it's also the record fish from all accounts.

I picked up an Iridescent Shark yesterday. About 4 inches. It is awesome and really brings life to the tank with his constant swimming. Any suggestions on what to feed him. He didn't eat yesterday that I could tell, but he's probably getting used to the tank. I've got krill, bloodworms, sinking pellets, and live rosie's on hand. Like I said he wasn't interested in eating anything yesterday.

I feed my two frozen bloodworms, and they also eat mysis shrimp, but they go berserk since day one for frozen bloodworms. Took me a long time to find two that were healthy enough looking to buy and try to raise. All the ones I have seen in the past had sunken in bellies and ich. These two have grown 2" in the past 1 1/2 months.
