He might stay in/near the same place. I'd go at night as coura says, use a flashlight, you might see him sleeping in the bushes.

At least it's warm now, he should at least be able to last until late Fall before cold sets in.

Hi,its a shame, thats only the biggining, after the lizards will be banned because ignorant people had nothing better to do.

You know the worse part about that is, most of the invasives (at least down here) aren't the fault of irresponsible pet owners at all. A lot of the little stuff, geckos etc, are stowaways on shipments of whatever, and even the pet types are more likely escapes from dealers/importers. Then of course there's the snakeheads; the scare came from northern snakeheads which were never "aquarium fish" anyway, and then you've got the pbass which were deliberately introduced.

But these political types have found it's much easier to blame those kooky herpers, it helps that all the so-called animal rights groups (PETA, HSUSA, etc) hate us too and will willingly participate in the fraud.

I agree with CTU2fan. The people that seriously keep herps and fish care about introducing invasives as much as they care about the health of their own animals. We know what happens when a nonnative species is introduced and none of us would actually allow it to happen. A few idiots ruin it for the rest of us.

Yes,I agree alot of the invasive species all over the world have been transportated by shipping cargo that had fruit, plants, animals and other products that offered shelter to these animals, not to mention illegal animal importers.

We had an iguana in our yard when I was a kid (obviously a pet someone had let go). My little sis tried to catch it and grabbed its tail.....imagine how suprised she was when it detached! Anyways, my dad ended up catching it and we had it for a couple of years and then we donated it to a science classroom at a middle school (as a class pet, not for experimentation, lol). I think that irresponsible pet owners are the worst. Poor captive animals really are at the mercy of humans, and it is a shame when people don't give them the respect and care they deserve.

Its interesting that you mencioned peta because just yesterday I was kind of bored and decided to find what they are up;) Well to say that there web site its a brain wash its putting it midly. And they now have a forum to share their #%&:grinno: A post that particulary amused me was of a guy that rescued a cat but now because "eating meat is wrong" he doesant want to feed meat, milk, fish or cat food to the poor cat:ROFL:I think they are going to feed it some "soy based cat food substitute":ROFL:The cat needs to be re rescued:grinno: Its wrong to raise animals for food but its not wrong to deprive a inocent animal of its natural food sorce with very likely health and well being consequences because of its owner convictions wich the poor cat has nothing to do with:screwy::grinno: Since they want to end with human meat consupsion they should start thinking about making campaing against lions, hienas, pythons, etc for being pretators:ROFL: Why cant thouse darn lions be vegans:ROFL:

PETA is absolutely rediculous. I recently watched an SPCA show where cats were rescued from a lady who was feeding them only granola and veggies. All of the cats were underweight and blind. They sure are not doing animals any good by depriving them of their natural food source. It's called a food chain people! lol

And they say things that are more then ages ago like that thing of exotic animals being cauth in their natural habitat and shipped to the world, only one in 10 surviving and stuff when in reallity nowadays shipping is so much more humane and eficient then it was before, the animals arive in much better health, what causes them to get down hill often its bad retail and pet shop owner husbandry practices. They also forgot to say that in many cases its either that or going to the stewing pot as the case in many reptiles from poor contries. Most animals nowadays are cb and I cant count with the number of fingers in both hands the number of animal species that because of breeding for the pet trade jumped from being really rare species to comon animals. Even green igs were rare once, but because they are so prolific their price has declined to a point of them being replasable pets:( But pet trade and conservacion can join hands;) Each home of a dedicaded hobbist becomes a litle Noahs ark with amazing potencial:D
