Irresponsible Resident dumps fish into Library pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Reminds me of last year when someone dumped hundreds of red bellied pacu into a lake near me. People were catching them left and right on rod and reel and people thought they were piranhas. If you dont have the space for the fish or have someone to sell the fish to when it outgrows your tank dont get it!

How do you dump that many fish without someone seeing you? That had to take awhile and more then one trip

My guess is that they must be tiny fishes then just grow up in the pond.

Hey another Winnipeger?
I wonder what species were dropped. Prob the commons like Oscars and Cichlids.

I'm thinking with the rescue lady taking 700 fish into her home & only? having 275 left to rehome, most were smaller specimens. that is a LOT of fish.
Too bad they listed no species, but the rescuers email is there
;-)

I read the article in another news site and it showed it was feeder goldfish. Not sure if there were others though.

Agreed...something had to have a cluth of eggs. Birds can transport eggs also but that may be unlikely in this scenario lol
