IME, from 4"-5" most will reach about a foot in 0.5-1 year. Then they slow down a lot. I've never seen one bigger than ~1.5' in captivity but I do hope they exist. In the wild they can get close to 3'.
I have had a couple that just refused to grow. Their growth rate was ~1/10th of the above. IDK why. They looked the same, were in the same tank with the fast-growing guys but ate, consistently, only 1/10th too.

They top out at 22" ???
What I've read is that they can reach 30" in the wild, probably 24"+ in a sufficiently large tank with adequate food and clean water. They'll want hiding spaces until they are much larger. I've read they can reach a foot in one year, but of course, that would take good conditions. I've also read that they like to be in groups.
You guys may get mixed up between irwini and granulosus. Irwini grows slow, and I haven't seen any irwini larger than 24" yet. Granulosus is a different story, grow big and grow fast. I bought some 12"-15" irwini the same time with two 8" granulosus a couple of years ago. The granulosus are quite bigger than the irwini now

Did I say I saw a 2'-er? Well, this is the biggest irwini that I've seen. I didn't buy it when it was up for sale, but I know the seller and once saw it before it came into his possession. Anyone has one bigger than it? Please share! So you did see a 2'-er raised in captivity? Just need to be sure, so I can update my knowledge, or not.
I am with Rodger: while your info is quite useful on grannies and irwinies but I don't think anyone here is confused on the ID. They both have sufficiently distinctive looks and my experience with both is not that clear as to who grows faster and by how much but the more data points we collect from different keepers, the clearer and more reliable picture will emerge. The OP, any one, are you confused?
