I am using ge clear 100% silicon to seal a 3d background on..but i notice it says "mold free" ...so it must have a chemical that fights mold..is it safe?

I've always stayed away from any mold resistant silicone. You may be able to cure the silicone for certain amount of days and reduce toxicity though, not sure exactly on time frame though

Agree with guys. My professional friend and I only use GE1 - the label on that says either "safe for aquarium use" (IIRC they removed it) or "safe for incidental exposure to food or drinking water" or some such language.

I strongly recommend reading the label attentively and entirely.

It's not studied well in our circles but anti-mold agents are "a priori" toxic to fish, maybe be even "de facto".
