is 70gal to small for 3 rbp's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah your's is smaller than 70 cause my 75 is 48x18x24, but i would recommend a tank this size. if you can (and want to) put them in the 90. it'll just make them that much happier AND you might be able to put another in there.

A great way to find the true gallons in your aquarium (and much easier than hauling buckets to count!) is to multiply the dimensions (in inches); for instance 48x24x18. once you have that number, you divide by 231. The true gallon size would be 89.766 in this case, or very near 90 gallons. I always use that when I look at buying tanks over what the seller tells me because people sometimes don't know what they've got. Hope that helps!

Or you could enter demensions at this website; http://www.drhelm.com/aquarium/areajava.html

70-75 is fine for three rbp. Altho bigger is better when it comes to tank size and pygos.

In a 75g I would say 3 for sure possibly 4 for life, rbp's grow very fast to about 6-7" then slow down after that.

In all honesty if I were start a 75g rbp tank, I would suggest buying around 4-6 babyies, because around the 2-3" mark I would expect a casualty or two.
